Responsible Minerals Sourcing Policy
At ELTA Automotive, we are committed to conducting business in an ethical, sustainable, and socially responsible manner. As part of this commitment, we recognise the importance of responsible mineral sourcing in our supply chain. We strive to ensure that the minerals used in our products are obtained from sources that respect human rights, promote fair labour practices, and minimise environmental impacts. We expect our suppliers to share this commitment and adhere to the following policy:
- Supply Chain Due Diligence:
1.1. Suppliers must conduct due diligence across their supply chains to identify the source of minerals used in the components supplied to ELTA Automotive.
1.2. Suppliers shall establish processes to assess and manage risks associated with the extraction, trade, and handling of minerals, with a focus on regions known for human rights abuses, conflict financing, and environmental damage.
1.3. Suppliers are encouraged to engage with their own suppliers to promote responsible mineral sourcing practices throughout the supply chain.
- Compliance with Regulations:
2.1. Suppliers must comply with all applicable international, national, and local laws, regulations, and standards related to responsible minerals sourcing, including but not limited to the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas.
2.2. Suppliers shall provide all necessary certifications and documentation to demonstrate compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Conflict Minerals:
3.1. Suppliers must not knowingly supply components or materials that contain conflict minerals originating from regions experiencing armed conflict or human rights abuses.
3.2. Suppliers shall exercise due diligence to identify the source of minerals and take necessary measures to ensure that conflict minerals are not used in their products or supplied to ELTA Automotive.
- Human Rights and Labour Practices:
4.1. Suppliers shall uphold and promote respect for human rights throughout their operations and supply chains, including the elimination of forced labour, child labour, and other exploitative practices.
4.2. Suppliers must provide safe and healthy working conditions for their employees and ensure fair remuneration in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Environmental Sustainability:
5.1. Suppliers are expected to minimize the environmental impact of their mineral extraction, processing, and transportation activities.
5.2. Suppliers shall adopt sustainable practices that promote responsible resource management, waste reduction, pollution prevention, and energy efficiency.
- Supplier Engagement and Capacity Building:
6.1. Suppliers are encouraged to actively engage with ELTA Automotive in promoting responsible minerals sourcing practices.
6.2. Suppliers shall collaborate with ELTA Automotive to raise awareness, share best practices, and enhance capacity for responsible minerals sourcing throughout the supply chain.
- Transparency and Reporting:
7.1. Suppliers shall provide ELTA Automotive with relevant information regarding the origin of minerals used in the supplied components, including supply chain traceability.
7.2. Suppliers must regularly report on their responsible minerals sourcing efforts, including due diligence findings, actions taken to address risks, and progress towards sustainability goals.
By accepting this Responsible Minerals Sourcing Policy, suppliers acknowledge their commitment to comply with its principles and work towards responsible minerals sourcing practices. ELTA Automotive reserves the right to assess and evaluate supplier compliance with this policy, including through on-site audits and due diligence assessments.
We believe that responsible minerals sourcing is essential for creating a sustainable future, protect human rights, and preserving the environment. Together with our suppliers, we aim to foster a responsible and ethical supply chain that positively impacts the communities and the environment in which we operate.
