Clutch switches are subject to repeated use and harsh pedal box environments. Common failure causes include:
Internal wear to spring mechanisms or contacts
Physical damage during pedal box work or incorrect installation
Moisture or dirt ingress, especially in high-mileage vehicles
Incorrect fitment or calibration on adjustable plunger-type switches
Check whether the plunger must be manually set — some switches auto-adjust, while others require specific installation depth.
Ensure proper pedal alignment before fitting the switch.
Don’t force-fit the connector — damaged terminals are a common cause of false signals.
